About Dagmar Spremberg Yoga

I invite you to pause, breathe, listen, and BE.

There is a lot for you to love about yourself. I am passionate about holding a space for you to discover and nurture your gifts with the practice of yoga on and off the mat.

I believe life does not depend on being able to get your foot behind your head, but on creating a good set of tools you can use beyond the mat.

When I started yoga 20 years ago, my goal was to touch my toes. But I soon realised that it was more about touching my heart, and to find the trust and freedom to live an authentic life.

My journey was learning to create space and to value and set boundaries through practices of yoga, self-care, and stillness. I believe in the power of sharing with like-minded people – together, we can empower each other to live our lives fully.

My Journey

In 2001, I became the founder and director of Montezuma Yoga in Costa Rica. While growing up in Germany, all I could envision for myself was living life in the sunshine, under the palm trees. Over 20 years of soul-searching – and many detours – I explored city life in Los Angeles and New York.

But I have found my dream life by the beach in the lush, tropical nature of Costa Rica. Because of my own experience, I believe that everyone can live their dreams. To do this, our work is to show up for ourselves, to become clear and open to receive the gifts we all deserve.

My Yogic Life

I trained in Vinyasa Flow, Anusara Yoga, and Yin Yoga. My main mentors are Elena Brower and Rod Stryker. I believe that a yogic life is wholistic and all-inclusive: body, mind, and spirit. In an effort to further understand and nurture the body, in 2006 I graduated from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York.

My classes are heartfelt and intuitive, gently challenging and deeply nourishing. Through creating a safe space and emphasis on softening and synchronising the breath I help you flow with more ease and grace while deepening your practice. I love to share pieces of wisdom that speak directly to you, so you can bring them home as an inspiration for your own life. So you can learn to relax and trust more easily.

When I am not in my home in Montezuma, I travel with my partner Gaudan to teach our signature Vinyasa Flow & Hang music classes and retreats. These will lead you back into your flow, leaving you feeling energised, inspired, and excited about finding your unique gifts and creating your amazing life!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a yoga retreat led by Dagmar in Costa Rica. This was my first retreat and I was not sure what to expect. I had only recently started practicing yoga. I am immensely grateful that I was given this opportunity. Dagmar has a beautiful heart which shines through as she leads others. She is a gifted teacher and her instruction is much more than just a physical experience.  Her ability to teach with an open heart makes the way for others to open their heart’s and experience deep levels of freedom. Her skill in challenging you physically yet supporting you emotionally creates a beautiful space of ease and growth. I discovered through Dagmar’s instruction the importance and beauty of embracing the fullness of the practice. I can not recommend her enough. If you are looking for a skilled teacher to support your overall wellbeing , look no further. Thank you Dagmar for who you are and all you poured into me during the time we had together in Costa Rica.  Sending much love and gratitude.
